Foreign Ministry Spokesman Kong Quan's Remarks on the Next Round of the Working Group Meeting of the Six-Party Talks
2004-08-18 00:00

Q: It is reported that the DPRK might refuse to join the next round of the Working Group Meeting of the Six-Party Talks. What comment does China have on this?

A: We have taken note of the remarks of the DPRK side on the relevant question. Differences among the parties are inevitable and natural in the process of peace talks. We believe that all the parties of the Six-Party Talks are willing to move forward the process of peace talks and seek a peaceful settlement for the nuclear issue through dialogue. We hope that the parties concerned can properly handle their differences in a calm, pragmatic and flexible attitude, so as to continue to push forward the process of peace talks.
